Who am I?>>

I'm an Environmental Improvement Officer for Air Pollution and Climate Change for Sandwell Council.
I have a passion for the environment and I love gardening, crafting and conservation! I am currently studying part-time for my MPH at the University of Birmingham alongside my work.

I was on the committee for Swansea University Conservation and Ecology Society (SUCES) for 2019/20.
• Winner of the Best Society of the Year
• Gold Award STaRS accredited for an outstanding society
• Winner of Society of the Month November
• Successfully applied for funding from the Swansea Enterprise team
• Hedgehog Friendly Campus campaign for the university
• Increased membership over 300% from previous year
• Planning events such as study sessions, moth id workshops, bat surveys, hedgerow volunteering, beach cleans, wildlife photography competitions, charity events, talks, and meetings
• Collaborate with the university marketing team, SUTV, lecturers, and other academic societies
• Experiencing running multiple social media accounts, online marketing, and event promotion
• This role gives me valuable skills in organisation, social media, time management, teamwork, interpersonal skills, financial responsibility, charity fundraising, and communication, whilst furthering the agenda of an environmentally orientated society

• Working with Swansea Council, Swansea University Sustainability Team and more
• Repair sand trap fencing in sand dunes and removing invasive plant species in the Swansea Marina
• Regular beach cleans in Crymlyn Burrows and Swansea Bay, removing litter
• Involved with the Tyfu Tawe Grow on Campus project, building bug hotels, hedgehog homes, and gardening
• Bat surveying, hedgehog monitoring etc
• Volunteered at the local Green Fayre at a stand about FairTrade

• Since 1980, we’ve lost over 35% of our seagrass meadows. Project Seagrass is committed to the conservation of seagrass ecosystems and ensuring that the benefits they provide communities are sustained now and for the future.
• Prepping hessian sandbags and biodegradable ropes to plant seagrass seeds for restoration along the Pembrokeshire coastline

• Shortlisted for Subject Rep of the Year
• Won a Gold Award for my efforts
• Elected to represent my degree scheme Physical Earth Science and Physical Geography as a second-year and third-year student to professors and the Head of Geography, as well as at university-wide boards
• Volunteering with the Student Union at Study Aid, offering free hot drinks and mental health breaks in the library at late hours in exam season
• Representing my peers at meetings about curriculum, methods of teaching, priorities for College of Science
• Commending any specific lecturers or teaching methods found positive by the student body
• Starting a personal campaign for the use of recycled paper in College of Science and shifting to online course work submissions
• Taking part in focus groups that benefit research teams at the university

• Volunteer shop assistant at Global Care Charity for two years whilst completing secondary school.
